This work is a culmination of a lifelong interest for Bob Hill, Jr in local history combined with a postal history hobby. Genealogy, archaeology, cartography, photography, and art hopefully will add to the reader’s interest. This book intends to relate some of the rich and multifaceted culture and history of the New River Valley counties of Montgomery, Pulaski and Giles through the surviving letters, photographs, and maps of those who formed those communities.
