The museum complex situated at 208 North Main Street in Pearisburg, VA comprises several buildings, including a museum building with 1,000 square feet of display and interpretative area. The façade of the museum building resembles a barn, with a large door that can be opened to welcome visitors and allow them to step back in history. Another door leads directly into the existing museum space, providing guests with the convenience of strolling between all buildings while visiting the Andrew Johnston House.

The Barn is located behind the current museum on a flat parcel adjacent to the parking lot, making it easily accessible once on the grounds. Inside, visitors will find a collection of significant agricultural equipment and historic vehicles currently housed downstairs at the museum. The Barn offers visitors a glimpse into the equipment and the way of life in Southwest Virginia from days gone by.

Our history museum offers specialized tours that provide a dynamic exploration of historical events, cultural movements, and the evolution of societies. Led by a local historian, visitors are transported through meticulously curated exhibits, bringing the past to life with vivid storytelling and interactive displays. These tours cater to diverse interests and ages, fostering a deep appreciation for our shared heritage.
